स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के तहत गांवों के बाद कस्बों व शहरों को खुले में शौच मुक्त करने के लिए प्रयास शुरू हो चुके है। जिसको लेकर बीडीपीओ सभागार में नगरपालिका की ओर से समुदाय संचालित सम्पूर्ण स्वच्छता विधि पर एक दिवसीय कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया। जिसमें हरियाणा स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के वाइस चेयरमैन सुभाष चंद्र व एडीसी प्रियंका सोनी  ने खुले में शौच के दुष्प्रभावों का प्रैक्टिकल डेमो दिया और शौच मुक्त अभियान को युद्ध स्तर पर चलाने का आह्वान किया। 

बुधवार को नगरपालिका की ओर से बीडीपीओ कार्यालय के सभागार में आयोजित एक दिवसीय सम्पूर्ण स्वच्छता विधि कार्यशाला में खुले में शौच से होने वाले दुष्प्रभावों को बताने के लिए प्रैक्टिकल डेमों दिया गया। जिसमें बताया गया कि किस प्रकार मक्खियों के जरिये मानव मल के खतरनाक विषाणु मनुष्य के शरीर में प्रवेश कर उन्हें बीमारियों का शिकार बनाते है।  विभिन्न विभागों के अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों, पार्षदों, आंगनवाड़ी व आशा वर्करों ने शहर की दिक्कतों के बारे में बताया। वहीं नपा चेयरमैन सुभाष गुप्ता ने समस्या रखते हुए कहा कि वर्तमान समय में सार्वजनिक स्थानों व मंडी में पर्याप्त शौचालयों की व्यवस्था नहीं है। शहर के करीब छह परिवारों के पास शौचालय नहीं है। ऐसे हालातों में लोगो को बिना विकल्प दिए शहर को पूर्णतया खुले में शौच मुक्त नहीं बनाया जा सकता। जिसके लिए शौचालयों के लिए गरीब लोगों को अनुदान दिया जाना चाहिए, ताकि शहर को जल्द से जल्द ओडीएफ किया जा सके। 

वहीं गरीब लोगों द्वारा शौचालयों के निर्माण के लिए अनुदान दिए जाने की मांग पर एडीसी प्रियंका सोनी ने दो टूक जवाब देते हुए कहा कि सरकार शौचालयों के लिए कोई ग्रांट नही देगी। शौचालयों के लिए लोगों को घर-घर जाकर जागरूक करना होगा। इसके अलावा मंडी व मिल मजदूरों के बारे में निर्देश देते हुए एडीसी ने कहा की मंडी के आढती सरकार से कमीशन लेते है ऐसे में ये उनका दायित्व है कि व्यापारी किसानों व मजदूरों के लिए शौचालयों का प्रबंध करें। 

 वाइस चेयरमैन सुभाष चंद्र ने कहा कि शहर को शौच मुक्त बनाने के लिए प्रत्येक नागरिक को आगे आना होगा, जिस प्रकार से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में शौच मुक्त अभियान को लेकर कार्य किए गए है, उसी प्रकार से शहर में भी किए जाने चाहिए। खुले में शौच करने से होने वाली बीमारियों के बारे में ज्यादातर लोगों को पता है, लेकिन ज्ञान होने पर भी नासमझी दिखाते है, जो सही नही है। शहर शौच मुक्त बनाना है तो दिन-रात कार्य करना होगा।
