Municipal municipality demolishes two illegal dhabas built on GT road, napa officials had to face opposition from dhaba operators

Illegal dhabas built on the municipal road on GT Road led to the yellow claw of the municipality. The NAP action stirred up the dhaba operators and the dhaba operators erupted. A dhaba operator even threatened the administrative officials not to move forward. Not only this, a dhaba operator tried to stop the action by sitting in front of JCB. The station in-charge and other police personnel present on the spot removed the dhaba operators in front of JCB and warned them not to interrupt the operation. Following which, on the instructions of the municipal authorities, two illegal dhabas built on GT Road were demolished. According to municipal officials, both the dhabas have been built illegally. Those who were given notices to remove the dhabas, but these people did not remove the dhabas, due to which the municipality had to implement action.
On Friday, the municipal team led by duty magistrate Ramesh Arora arrived to demolish the illegal dhabas on GT Road. Municipal Secretary Ravi Prakash Sharma along with police force first arrive at Shri Hari Dhaba and started the process of demolishing the Dhaba. During this time the dhaba operator also showed the documents related to the dhaba, but the municipal officials were not satisfied and started running yellow paw on the dhaba. Until the demolition of the temporary shops built at the site of the dhaba, the dhaba operators kept adding their hands to not demolish the dhaba in front of the officials, but the authorities did not listen and acted on the dhaba. After this, the municipality's demolition squad rangala went towards the Punjab Dhaba. This dhaba owner had already taken out his belongings. The JCB machine went on breaking this dhaba. NAPA officials warned that the municipality would continue to take action on illegal dhabas, any person opened the dhaba illegally.

As the machine proceeded to demolish the dhaba at Srihari Dhaba, the Dhaba operators erupted and a Dhaba operator sat in front of the JCB machine and attempted to stop the operation. Immediately SHO Kanwar Singh, with the help of other police personnel, removed the young man from the front of JCB. After this, the dhaba started threatening in front of the governing authorities. The anger of the dhaba operators did not stop here. The Director of Srihari Dhaba publicly threatened the officials and said that if they demolished the Dhaba, there will be some incident yet, it will be difficult for the officers to hide. I have endured a lot. Go ahead and see, I will tell you. The extent that you (officials) do not let people eat and earn. I have invested the capital of my life in the dhaba and built a dhaba in my land. You are killing me while living, baddies are very bad. Actually, the dhaba operators were demanding from the municipal authorities to demolish some part of the dhaba in the name of action but the NAPA officials did not listen to the dhaba operators.

Srihari Dhaba and Rangla are within the boundary of Punjab Dhaba municipality. Both dhabas were constructed without CLU. Notices were also issued by the municipality as per rules to both dhaba operators. Time was also given to evacuate the dhaba. But no action was taken by the dhaba operators regarding the CLU nor the dhaba was emptied on time. Due to which the Dhabas have been demolished with the supervision of the duty magistrate and the police force.
