In Begumpur village, PWD SDO and JE have taken strong note of the Engineer's Association in the case. Union president Dharamvir Arya warned that if the police did not take strict action against the accused in two days, then a penalty strike would be held in the district. On the complaint of the same SDO Dilbag Mehra, the police have registered a case against two persons under various sections. However, the accused have not been arrested yet.
Last Monday, PWD Department SDO Dilbag Mehra J.E Dinesh Kumar and Beldar Jasbir went to inspect a road constructed in Begumpur village. Meanwhile, two people named Sunil and Silli, resident of Begumpur, attacked the SDO and JE sitting in the car with kick bribes. Victims SDO Dilbag Mehra and JE Dinesh Kumar had reported the matter to the Munak police. Engineer Association has expressed its anger over the incident of assault with departmental officers during government work. Association President Dharamvir Arya said that strict legal action should be taken against those who abused and assaulted employees while on duty. He said that if the accused are not arrested in the next two days, a pan-down strike will be started in the entire district.
Munak police station in-charge Kuldeep Singh said that a case has been registered on the complaint given by SDO Dilbag Mehra regarding the incident in village Begumpur. Soon the accused will be arrested.
